All That Glitters-Original Poem by Lolita Lynn

All That Glitters

Diamonds are a girls best friendgb

So poverty must be the enemy.

Why all the emphasis on money?

They say with dollars Ill be happy.

Looked after, cared for, content

But as quickly as the cash comes in

Its just as quickly, if not faster, spent.

There is so much more to life

            Than how much we make

So much more than fancy cars

            Diamond rings; money we take

Diamonds? A girls best friend?

Its up to me to shatter that mold.

All that glitters is not gold.
